Joining Stony Hill Advisors, Claus Erik Skudstrup Madsen has over 30 years of experience as a C-level global operations and business development leader. Throughout his career, he has specialized in driving both organic and acquisitive growth for multinational entities, most notably leading 14 full-cycle major acquisitions from initial identification and negotiation through to due diligence, closing, and integration as a corporate CEO.Before taking the helm at Stony Hill Advisors, Claus served as a Business Consultant and M&A Advisor. In this role, he focused on helping business owners prepare and sell their companies, managing business turnarounds, and developing strategies for acquisitions and franchising.
Claus previously held significant leadership positions with ISS A/S, a US$12B multinational corporation. His tenure included serving as:
- CEO and Regional Director for Greater China (Hong Kong): Where he oversaw operations totaling US$300M and restructured strategic directions to boost profitability by 15%.
- CEO and Country Manager for Mexico: Where he led a US$110M operation with 15,000 employees, serving over 500 clients and building a massive acquisition pipeline.
- Country Manager and Regional Manager for Argentina: Where he successfully completed a major business turnaround following the 2001 economic crisis, tripling the business size through post-crisis acquisitions.
Claus is a specialist in translating complex concepts into lucrative realities, with core competencies in financial analysis, strategic planning, and turnaround operations. His extensive background in market penetration and expansion is complemented by his ability to build and motivate high-performance multinational sales teams.
Claus brings a uniquely international perspective to Stony Hill Advisors, having lived and worked for 9 years in Asia, 12 years in South America, and 15 years in the USA and Europe. He is fluent in Danish, English, and Spanish, with a working knowledge of German.
Claus holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing. Outside of his professional life, he plays tennis, has a history of community involvement, chamber of commerce, HOA board member and serving as a head coach for intramural soccer during his time in Argentina.
